At Greenville Combatives Academy, our Youth Defense Curriculum “YDC” for ages 6+ is a practical, minimal, and proven counter violence system designed specifically for kids that was founded by Zane Forrest. It combines standing and ground striking and grappling techniques that are taught and trained with pressure testing alongside purpose built fitness drills and soft skills such as awareness priming and threat recognition. Students learn not just how to protect themselves, but also when it’s appropriate to use what they’ve learned all while cultivating confidence, character and discipline through our Christian values, life skills and resilient mentality lessons.

Our “T1C” program delivers the best proven self protection concepts, skills, and principles in a direct, personalized style in a private lesson format for full spectrum preparedness, including extreme situations and protection of others for when it matters most. Training develops mindset, fitness, awareness, positioning tactics, voice use, evasion, deescalation, countering multiple assailants, posturing, striking, grappling, emergency medical response, improvised / melee weapons, and more. Students are given notes and home training routines to accelerate mental retention and skill programming progress as fast as possible.
Father & Son Forge offers private self protection combatives lessons designed to strengthen mind, body, and bond. Each session focuses on practical skills for real world safety while fostering respect, teamwork, and personal growth. Fathers and sons train side by side, building confidence, discipline, and resilience together in a positive, supportive, focused environment.
